Ph.D.: April 1988—March 1991, Department of Chemical Process Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Osaka University, Japan.

Master: October 1985—March 1988. Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering, Gifu University, Japan.

Bachelor: August 1980—August 1984, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering, Institute of Chemical Engineering of East China, China.

Experience:

Professor and Group Leader: April 1998-Now, State Key Laboratory of Organometallic Chemistry, Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC).

ERATO Researcher: December 1996—March 1998, Inoue Photochirogenesis Project, Japan Science and Technology Corporation (JST) and worked on the photo-induced asymmetric reaction and synthesis.

Postdoctor: October 1995—December 1996, University of Oklahoma, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, U.S.A., Prof. Kenneth M. Nicholas’s research group and worked on the fixation of CO2 using transition metal complexes.

Research Assistant: April 1993—October 1995, Research Laboratory of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Gifu Pharmaceutical University, Japan and worked on the asymmetric synthesis, drug design, and molecular recognition.


Research Interest:

1) Fixation of CO2 using transition metal catalyst.
2) Total synthesis of natural product, Developing new chiral ligands or organocatalysts in catalytic asymmetric synthesis.
3) Chemical transformations based on the strained small rings.
